Barry Nobles on track in Gaston County

The rolling hills, riverbeds and creek valleys of Gastonia delivered a big day of pump track racing this past weekend! It is here at George Poston Park where North Carolina’s first-ever Velosolutions Pump Track was constructed setting the stage for yet another of the charts qualifier in the USA.

Great weather conditions, a solid crowd of supporters and a super level of riding delivered one of the best races to date on a qualifier level to date – with BMX dominating in the end –  in a stacked field of quality riders. Keagan Nelson, 24-year-old BMX rider from Clark County, NY took the win against the legend Barry Nobles in a thrilling final run in a head to head format after KJ Romero set the fastest time of the day. Keagan earns his World Final ticket after a second-place against Tommy Zula in Leavenworth earlier this year.

Shealen Reno took the win in Latvia last year, this time around the 23-year-old BMX rider from Dallas, Texas was determined to do it on home soil, and she did it in excellent form. Jordan Scott from St George, Utah raced BMX for 12 years and recently started racing DH, she was the winner of the Last Chance Qualifier in Arkansas at the last World Final, but couldn’t quite beat out Reno in that final run on the day.

Race day made for an exceptionally high level of competition and an epic day of celebrating bike, we can’t wait to be back in 2020 USA, you never disappoint!
